THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our dedicated team at Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets, where the Maintenance Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity of our saleyards while adhering to stringent animal welfare standards and EPA regulations. You'll be an integral part of our team, ensuring the livestock markets run smoothly and efficiently, all while contributing to the nurturing of a supportive and collaborative work environment.

This is a temporary role, with a 6 month maximum term contract.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Undertake general maintenance of the Dubbo Regional Livestock Market, including but not limited to, painting, concreting, carpentry, plumbing, lawn and tree maintenance, cleaning, fencing, and minor building maintenance and repairs
• Drive, operate and undertake maintenance of plant machinery competently
• Euthanizing and disposing of crippled/diseased stock 
• Assist with general duties at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets as required

ABOUT YOU

You are physically fit and enjoy practical, hands on work in a busy outdoor environment. Additionally, you are experienced in plant maintenance, self motivated, and able to take direction. You are a team player who continually looks for positive ways to contribute to team culture.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

• Physical fitness to carry out the requirements of the role
• Demonstrated experience and skills in plant operation
• Ability to work co-operatively in a team
• Possession of or ability to obtain a firearms licence
• WHS Construction Induction Card
