McLean Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth/Felton, 30 minutes Southwest of Toowoomba. Specialising in livestock and food production, the business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as grain, compost and feed mill operations. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join the team in a full-time capacity across our various poultry farms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day maintenance of all equipment and facilities throughout the McLean poultry farms, including the administration and costing of all tasks. The position will review notifications, internal and external requests, prioritise and schedule work orders, scope, and plan tasks in accordance with agreed work management processes and procedures. The successful candidate will also be focused on ensuring that planning and scheduling practices uphold the poultry farms and facility’s reliability
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow work management policies and procedures and support the wider planning team to do the same;
- Conduct day to day maintenance task scoping, planning, and scheduling;
- Monitor the progress of planned maintenance activities and proactively adjust work schedules accordingly;
- Identify additional manning requirements through the labour budgeting process to complete all monthly planned tasks;
- Plan and implement large scale upgrades on site, and assist in sourcing competitive pricing on services and parts;
- Provide input into the short-, medium- and long-term strategic maintenance plans;
- Monitor and review equipment performance, action root cause analysis investigation outcomes and modify strategies to improve overall performance and availability of assets;
- Assist in planning upgrade projects and advise on maintenance schedules and plans for operations;
- Ensure equipment history is correctly and accurately recorded in the relevant Maintenance Management System;
- Assist in the development of budgets, business cases and continuous improvement solutions;
- Complete end of month reporting as required or directed;
- Liaise with service personnel and suppliers etc. to ensure required support, equipment and spare part availabilities are maintained;
- Identify opportunities to further enhance and improve the overall performance of the planning workflow and material management;
- Maintain required trade knowledge to ensure continued compliant and safe work practices;
Requirements:
- Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant or related field;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Maintenance Planning position;
- Knowledge of planning principles;
- Basic project management experience;
- Sound understanding of Ventilation;
- Sound understanding of Big Dutchman and SKOV equipment;
- Mature team player with good communication skills;
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills;
- Poultry-related background.
