MAINTENANCE AND PROPERTY OFFICER & HANDYMAN

We are a non-government school (KG - Yr 12 IB School) looking for a suitably experienced Maintenance and Property Officer to join our school on a full-time basis. Please note we currently have positions vacant at our Kellyville & Strathfield
About the Role:
- Assist with the care and maintenance of buildings, furniture and equipment
- Contribute to the cleanliness and good order of the grounds and maintenance of storage and work areas
- Assist with the preparation of classrooms, furniture, equipment and fittings
- Keep all equipment and tools cleaned, serviced and maintained
- Pro-actively identify maintenance and repair tasks needed and carry out the necessary maintenance or report action by others, in a timely manner
- Carry out checks and inspections as necessary to ensure equipment is safe, reliable and well maintained
- Remove (where possible) and report any safety hazards
- Provide support with a variety of security duties that involve using and maintaining the school security systems and locking and unlocking buildings
- Conduct and document regular inspections to ensure Work Health and Safety compliance
- Communicate and liaise with a wide range of personnel, students, external contractors and tradespersons in relation to damage to facilities, lost property and repair and maintenance to the school
- Comply with relevant legislation applicable to the role, including but not limited to Work Health and Safety obligations, Child Safety obligations and compliance with relevant school policies.
- Attend to specific maintenance requests as directed
- Ability to start as soon as possible
Criteria for Selection:
- Experience in general building maintenance, preferably within a school environment
- General handyperson experience
- Similar previous experience (trade, handyperson, maintenance, DIY)
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining Work Health and Safety obligations within the scope of the role
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision
- Proactive in your role
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current NSW Driver’s License
- Ability to work collaboratively, maintain confidentiality and professionalism
