About the Project
Olympic Dam Mine, operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide, mining copper, gold and uranium. Redpath have ramped up to commence a new contract in July 2023, providing Shotcreting, Cablebolting, Batch Plant services and Fleet maintenance. As one of the largest contractors on site, you will gain valuable experience to help grow your maintenance career in underground mining.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Project Manager, The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading a safe and efficient maintenance operation achieving exceptional equipment reliability and maintaining compliance with the Health, Safety, Training, Environmental and Quality systems whilst providing leadership and direction for the maintenance team.
The role involves:
- Working on an 8/6 Roster
- Repairs and maintenance of mechanical equipment on site;
- Direction, supervision and coaching of all mechanical staff;
- Day to day recording of progress of works;
- Investigate breakdowns weekly.
- FIFO available from all Australian Capital Cities
- Continual training, progression, and support to help you reach your goals in the industry.
We are looking for:
- Mechanical Trades Qualification or relevant Tertiary Qualifications;
- Experience in mechanical installation and maintenance in an underground mining environment;
- Experience with managing a team of mechanical personnel;
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Able to prioritise and schedule tasks according to changing priorities
- Ability to hold and maintain a national police clearance certificate;
- Valid manual drivers licence;
- A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done — safely.
