We are recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor for the Carmichael Mine, which is a 10mtpa coal mine located north-west of Clermont in central Queensland
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Supervisor – MAR maintenance oversees the maintenance of the Mine Access Road and secondary roads used by Project andPublic Traffic. Bravus has discrete obligations under the Infrastructure Access Agreement with Isaac Regional Council (IRC) including ongoing identification and rectification of road defects, controlling Project Traffic and ensuring safe and civil infrastructure essential for supporting mining activities. The role supervises contract resources to ensure effective and timely disposition of those resources in ensuring safe and regular access to the MAR.
Responsibilities of the role include:
§ Supervise and lead a team of contractors in the execution of road maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to project priorities, specifications, and safety regulations.
§ Coordinate with mine operations to provide feedback on any defect or event restricting access to the MAR or secondary roads.
§ Co-ordinate access to the Mine during/after wet weather events in liaison with the Mne Senior Site Executive, Incident Management Team and other stakeholders, including assisting logistics and access to Heavy Vehicle convoys from time to time.
§ Co-ordinate all activities to expedite re-opening of the MAR following wet weather or other events resulting in road or structure closure. This includes assigning, escorting and assisting any RPEQ required to provide reports required by IRC.
§ Conduct daily inspections of the MAR to inform priorities for maintenance and/or rectification work in accordance with DTMR Road
Maintenance Guidelines:
§ Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
§ Manage equipment and material resources effectively, including procurement, allocation, and inventory management, to support timely and cost-effective project execution.
§ Monitor road maintenance progress, productivity, and costs, and report on key performance indicators to management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and deviations from planned objectives.
§Provide technical guidance and support to contractor crews, assisting with problem-solving, interpretation of engineering drawings, and resolution of construction-related issues.
§ Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, and promote a culture of safety excellence among team members.
§ Foster positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration to achieve project goals.
§ Mentor and develop junior staff members, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to support their growth and advancement within the organisation.

Other qualifications and attributes required include:
Necessary:
§ Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil construction in a supervisory role.
§ Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, and materials, with experience in earthworks, road maintenance and construction, and infrastructure development.
§ Familiarity with safety regulations, maintenance best practices, and environmental
standards applicable to public road maintenance.
Desired:
§ Trade and/or Cert4 in civil construction
§ Heavy industry and/or Mining industry experienced.
