About the Opportunity:
As a Maintenance Supervisor you'll be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming, professional and supportive care experience for the residents of St Vincent's Care Gympie.
St Vincent's Care Services Gympie is located in the Wide Bay-Burnett district, about 160km north of Brisbane and 80km north of Maroochydore. Our 30 bed facility provides residents with exceptional care with the added benefit of beautifully landscaped gardens, extensive verandahs, and sweeping views of Gympie and the Cooloola Shire countryside.
Reporting to the Facility Manager (and a connection to the QLD Property & Infrastructure Manager), you as a Maintenance Supervisor at SVCS Gympie will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of property services, including repairs and maintenance, to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for our Residents and Staff.
The Maintenance Supervisor will coordinate and prioritise corrective maintenance tasks as well as carry out planned preventative maintenance. You will supervise and liaise with contractors, providing hands-on support with building maintenance (e.g. painting, plastering, minor plumbing & carpentry), garden & grounds maintenance, basic IT equipment, furniture management and other general duties as required.
The Maintenance Supervisor will work in a permanent part-time capacity, starting at 3 days per week minimum with the ability to work additional days a week if required. You will be willing to travel to SVCS Maroochydore as required (e.g. to cover annual leave).

Things that work for us:
- Trade qualification will be highly regarded
- Ability to perform maintenance works with previous experience in maintenance support
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to problem solve
- Aged care, health or hospitality experienced preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously and or with other team members to provide outcomes aligned to St Vincent's Care Services Values and Mission
- Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to reach own goals and actively assist the maintenance team reach KPI's
- Sound Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn in-house systems e.g. purchase requisitions/invoicing
- Have a clear understanding of safe Work Health & Safety practices
- Ability to follow directives as per care plan
- Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
- Vaccinated (and up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19
- Current Drivers' License preferred
- National Police Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
