What you’ll be doing
We’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our energetic and fast paced team in Dee Why. You will be reporting into Maintenance and Production Manager and will be responsible for leading maintenance systems and delivering the preventive maintenance plan for the factory in a safe, right first time and efficient manner. You’ll be responsible for coordinating between scheduled and unscheduled breakdowns while supporting any ongoing projects that drive continuous improvements for the factory in the most cost-effective manner. The Maintenance Team has around 15 members and consists of both Electrical and Mechanical Fitter tradesman.
The role is also responsible for delivering results in line with Prysmian Group Management Plan for the factory and for contributing to continuous improvement targets and lean manufacturing projects. This includes direct supervision of fitters, electricians, and trade assistants to achieve the set goals and objectives across HSE, Quality, Customer Service, Performance and People across a 24-hour operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead the Maintenance Team to achieve key factory maintenance KPI's (reduce breakdowns, reduce response time, PM's etc.)
- Develop, Implement and Maintain Preventative Maintenance Systems via the MAINPAC System
- Play a key role in HSE systems from a maintenance perspective within the factory
- Supervise factory equipment, maintenance strategies in accordance with PM, OEE, Quality, Service, Breakdown etc.
- Manage contractor services (Cleaning Contractors, Grounds Contractors etc.)
- Promote 6S Continuous Improvements philosophy
- Proactively supervise the maintenance function in conjunction with factory Sales & Operating Plan requirements
- Mechanical or Electrical maintenance background with 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Understanding of relevant HSE regulations, standards, and practices
- Experience with digital Preventative Maintenance Systems
- Working knowledge of electrical/electronic systems
- Optical and Metallic Telecommunication Cable Manufacturing equipment and processes (ideal but not necessary)
- Knowledge in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering theory, concepts and systems
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems and procedures
- Excellent Communication skills

- Basic CAD competency
