The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in executing both planned and unplanned tasks at QMAG, ensuring that the quality of work remains consistently high. About The Role
The Maintenance Supervisor position will consist of the following duties:
- Ensure the effective repair and maintenance of fixed plant assets.
- Undertake repairs/maintenance and provide assistance to others on the team to prolong equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults with plant and equipment.
- Maintain Australian Standards, engineering, and maintenance standards.
- Regularly inspect the workplace for safe and healthy work practices and environment and actively promote mine safety among the workforces.
- Assist the Maintenance Coordinator to provide feedback and direction in the implementation of the Quality System within the work area.
- Identify opportunities and implement systems and procedures that reduce costs, improve equipment availability and/or increase productivity.
- Identify opportunities to improve system and equipment reliability and encourage continuous improvement projects.
- Develop computer and software skills (databases, spreadsheets, word processing etc.)
- Update scheduling systems, including adding notes to system and requesting work orders for maintenance repairs and activities.
The Requirements
We are looking for people with the following:
- Relevant mine related competencies based on statutory requirements and the nature/style of the mining process.
- Previous experience with maintenance of fixed plant assets
- Capability to read and interpret technical documents, such as:
- OEM Maintenance plans
- Complex electrical schematics/termination diagrams and update as necessary.
- Familiar with performing lockout-tag out procedure
- Have a strong fundamental understanding of mechanical maintenance functions.
- Experience in industrial mining or mineral processing environments.
- Operating experience in fixed plant; preferably in conjunction with large, automated Wash plants/crushing/screening/processing plants
- Exposure to unit cost production, with experience in planning work schedules, budgeting, and meeting deadlines
