The role will cover installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, routine inspections and training on a diverse range of hi-speed, semi and fully automated injection moulding and packaging equipment. Mechatronic experience and a good all-around understanding of machinery is highly valued.

Our operations run 24/7 and due to ongoing growth, we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician on our Dandenong South site to support our business in our manufacturing facility. Permanent Day shift.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include: -

• Support production activities to optimise productivity and minimise downtime
• Responsible for the Adjustments, Repairs and set up of machines
• Solve technical problems
• Maintain the production equipment to ensure it is running effectively and efficiently
• Develop and support proposals to increase machine capacity and throughput
• Diagnose faults and proactively manage breakdowns of equipment or process failures in a timely manner
• Follow planned maintenance activities which include being actively involved in maintenance planning, plant improvements and projects that will improve plant availability and efficiency
• Maintain computerised systems to guard against production delays or shut-down of systems
• Ensure compliance with site quality and HACCP
• Communicate and escalate issues through the shift and the creation and sending of shift report messages to the broader maintenance and operation groups
• ‘On-the-job’ training will be provided on all our equipment as well as specialised training from our equipment suppliers.

 About You

The successful applicant will have the following: -

• Australian Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Recent trade completion is ideal)
• Previous experience working in an environment that utilises high-speed packaging equipment including injection moulding, IML and packaging machines will be highly regarded (a must have)
• Strong Mechanical/Electrical service and repair knowledge including hydraulics and pneumatics
• A genuine interest in automation and technology, with the aptitude to learn new concepts and procedures
• Knowledge of business operations including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Knowledge of ISO and HACCP principles
• Strong team player and customer-focused
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work autonomously and self-manage time effectively
• Computer literate in MS Office programs
• Focused on achieving results
• Eligible to work in Australia
• Current Forklift licences are preferred.
