OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Ensure Sort Systems and related depot equipment is fully maintained. Execution of preventative and predictive maintenance and provide prompt corrective action in cases of unforeseen breakdowns or damages being incurred. This position requires competencies as a Mechanical Fitter with the capacity to undertake broader responsibility for general depot maintenance.
You will be based at the Larapinta depot working 38 hours per week, engineering onsite cover operational requirements between 5am and 8pm. Shift 1: 500am - 1.06pm, Shift 2: 1200pm to 800pm. Flexibility in working hours in this role is necessary. $59.06 per hour, overtime available.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE
- Be willing to obtain restricted electrical license (company paid)
- Formal Mechanical Fitter trade papers or equivalent
The ability to work autonomously
- The ability to work effectively and contribute in a small engineering team
- Experience with maintenance of complex industrial facilities
- Calm and methodical engagement style
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of PLC, VSD and SCADA installations
- General knowledge of carton and package handling conveyor systems
- Experience with conveying equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Stick and mig welding capability
- Experience in a similar role
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check

What you'll bring to this role
To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience:
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance role
- General knowledge of high speed carton and package handling conveyor systems
- Flexibility to work on mechanical equipment
- Capacity to utilise computerised maintenance management (MEX) software systems effectively
- Ability to participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Project experience
- Ability to work autonomously - unsupervised
- Ability to work within a small work team
- Available to work Monday to Friday
- Demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment
- Driver's licence
