The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, and acting as a trusted 2IC, you will lead the Financial Accounting team. This is an ideal opportunity for and experienced and ambitious Senior Financial Accountant with solid team leading skills, ready for the next step in their career.
The role has a focus on Financial Accounting and Asset Accounting, and most of all – team leadership.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of Financial Accounting professionals across multiple entity and high-volume environment.
- Support Group Managers in monitoring financial performance against budgets - ensuring compliance.
- Produce monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting on Balance Sheet, Profit and loss, variance against budget and forecast.
- Conduct reconciliations, investigate variances and provide trend analysis and insights.
- Tax and reporting compliance responsibilities.
- Develop, and implement systems and processes to improve reporting time frames and ensure accuracy of the ledgers.
- Assist internal and external stakeholders (accountants, auditors, lawyers, tax advisors, insurance brokers, banks, consultants etc).
- Project work – including software changes being implemented across the finance function.

This is the perfect opportunity for a motivated Senior financial Accountant or Accounting Manager looking to enhance and develop their career, working closely with the Financial Controller, who will provide mentorship to ensure you reach your full potential.
The ideal background required includes:
- CA/CPA qualifications.
- Working knowledge in Financial Accounting, tax, treasury and budgeting.
- Experience leading a team in the delivery of month end accounting.
- Previous experience in the agriculture, FMCG or manufacturing industries.
- Experience across Power BI, MYOB, Xero (or similar).
- An understanding of accrual accounting and fixed assets.
- Strong team player and flexible working style.
