About The Role

Caval Ridge Mine is located 5km south of Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.

Thiess is seeking a Maintenance Trainer Assessorfor a permanent employment opportunity at our open cut coal mining project, Caval Ridge.

This position will see you, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide support to the Maintenance Department to contribute towards the safe and efficient training and development of maintenance personnel within the Thiess maintenance department.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the site training needs for the Maintenance Department
• Onsite Authorisations and training of maintenance personal 
• Developing and maintain skills matrices for all maintenance personnel.
• Assisting with escorts and deliveries of daily freight, parts and plant throughout the mine

Requirements:

• Current Cert IV Trainer Assessor skill with 3 years relevant industry experience
• An SSE Signed training transcript.
• Knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld) including all relevant regulations, guidelines, and Australian standards
• Knowledge of Nationally Recognised Core Competency packages
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
• Solid computer and systems capabilities
• Current Standard 11
• Current drivers’ licence
• Relevant coal mining certifications

• Be highly motivated and committed to deliver quality results.
• High standards for personal safety and for others
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and an enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Desirable but not essential:

• Hold a current HR Non-Slew Crane Licence
• Hold a current HR Forklift Licence
• MR/HR drivers’ licence with Tilt tray operation experience
