Role Description
The Aboriginal Family Support worker position will provide a liaison and support service to children and their families attending the Child, Youth Assessment & Therapeutic Team. The position is responsible for cultural brokerage, liaison, advocacy and support for clients ensuring the responsibility of coordination and facilitation of child and families for appointments and follow-ups.
To be considered for this position, you will require:
- Identifies an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community
- Excellent communication skills including fluency in one or more local Aboriginal languages and the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
- Proven experience in providing support to Aboriginal Children and families.
- Current Drivers Licence.
