About the role
The Management Accountant will reporting directly to the directors, working amongst a team of 5 you will be a key link between the finance and operations team.
Responsibilities
•Maintain accurate financial records, including the general ledger.
•Oversee full reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary processes.
•Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, providing variance and trend analysis.
•Assist in preparing company budgets, analyse variances, and update rolling 12-month forecasts.
•Oversee and support the finance and administration teams, providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
•Train and support finance and administrative staff on systems, policies, and procedures.
•Conduct financial analysis, including variance, profitability, and cost analysis.
•Manage compliance tasks (BAS, FBT, internal audits) and assist in annual finance calendar maintenance.
•Provide administrative support, organize financial documents, and assist with ad-hoc tasks.
•Assist in continuous process improvements and system implementations.
•Assist in managing vendor and customer relationships.
•Analyse expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend efficiency improvements.
•Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance data accuracy.
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
•Assist in special finance-related projects, contributing to planning, data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
Skills and Experiences
•Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Economics, or related field.
•Solid financial acumen with proficiency in accounting practices and financial software.
•2 years of prior experience within a similar role.
•Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•Integrity, confidentiality, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
•Proficiency in spreadsheets and relevant financial tools.
•Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
•Spanish speaker is a bonus.
