Management Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Management Accountant to join our Head Office in Broadbeach on the beautiful Gold Coast, on a full-time basis.
What does a typical day look like?
This role will see you acting as the first point of contact for dnata Catering Finance team on any finance related matters. This will include providing the dnata Catering management team with advice, monthly reporting, and support on all facets of financial performance through high quality analysis and interpretation.
While reporting, budgeting, and forecasting are key traditional elements of this role, so too is the development of relationships with the management team in order to understand the business area and to partner effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing the development, production and analysis of high-level performance reports and advice as well as detailed supporting data to meet the financial information needs of managers and staff at various levels.
• Engage with business managers on a regular basis. Present monthly financial results at their meetings and help them understand opportunities for improvements. Assist them and their support staff in planning, forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Conduct commercial analysis and bench marking.
• Establish and maintain systems to manage and support the planning, forecasting and budgeting processes. This includes monitoring performance against relevant targets.
• Complete, or assist the business with the completion of, period end financial processes including month-end task e.g., accruals, or other similar journals processed by centralized financial accounting team.
• Review of business cases and provide reliable advice on the accounting treatment of capital project expenditure.
• Co-ordinate analysis and other investigations to produce accurate, relevant, and timely information and advice to monitor and manage business performance.
• Pro-actively analyze complex financial issues (e.g., Material expenses / standard cost impacts from changing flights schedules or product offering changes etc.) to provide advice and recommendations.

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

• CA, CGMA or CPA Qualified.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in similar roles.
• Airline industry or food manufacturing experience highly regarded.
• Exceptional communication skills across full stakeholder spectrum.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Experience with JDE, and Power BI advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and modelling.
• Ability to multitask, manage your time efficiently and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates strong organisational / time management skills.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high volume, high value environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an analytical and methodical approach.
