Our client is a Canberra based management consulting company, renowned for delivering excellence in financial management solutions for government. We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to work with autonomy within a tight knit team.
Your Role:
Forge Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with executives and operational staff to provide trusted advisory services, enabling informed decision-making aligned with financial goals, including cost management.
Responsibilities:
Monthly Management Reports: Prepare and present comprehensive monthly reports and analysis to senior executives. Engage in insightful discussions to drive informed strategies, fostering proactive decision-making.
Budget Development: Drive the creation of internal operating budgets, facilitating ongoing review and analysis to ensure accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
External Budgeting: Develop New Policy Proposals adhering to strict guidelines, aligning with the Commonwealth Budget Process Operating Rules.
Leadership: Lead within the Management Accounting and Reporting section, embodying departmental values and driving Finance Branch outcomes.
Innovation and Improvement: Contribute significantly to innovation and continuous business process enhancement initiatives, fostering a culture of improvement.
Experience / Requirements:
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or post-graduate qualification is highly desirable.
Government Financial Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of government financial management and operations.
Decision Support: Proven capability in supporting effective decision-making processes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Commencement of your CPA or CA qualifications will be highly regarded.
