Management / Financial accountant

Randstad is working with a large client in the aviation industry based in Brisbane CBD. They are looking for someone who is able to complete all duties of Financial Accounting and Management Accounting. In this role you will start from the ground up to get a full understanding of their business practices and processes. This role will report to the Finance Manager.
Your Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end month-end processes including posting journals, balance sheet, and P&L reconciliations
• Undertake budgeting and forecasting activities and analysis to actuals
• Prepare, lodge and manage deadlines for statutory returns including but not limited to company tax, PAX & Airport Tax, FBT, BAS, Payroll tax, ABS
• Manage fixed assets register
• Assist with the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions
• Preparation of the management and finance board pack
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Other duties as required by the Finance Manager or CFO

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with CPA or CA designation
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including IFRS
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CA or working towards achieving
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with TM1, Power BI, MYOB and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Experience in the aviation industry highly desirable
