The three key areas this role is responsible for are:
- Asset Management - to deliver and administer a contemporary asset management framework by advising the Pathology Queensland Executive team on investment in laboratory equipment needs along with capital funding opportunities to enable well informed decision making.
- Contract Management – to oversee the management and administration of PQ's consumable supply & asset maintenance contracts with its vendors and liaise closely with the Strategic Procurement and Supply department (SPS) to provide expertise on all laboratory procurement processes.
- Capital Procurement – Prepare reports measuring the effectiveness, success, and outcomes of various capital procurement initiatives for the QPHaSS Executive team.
Liaise with System Procurement and Supply senior staff to ensure that supplier analysis, tender processes, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and contract management issues are resolved.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘Your role', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- A high level of experience in asset management, contract management and asset procurement.
- Ability to coordinate processes across geographically dispersed sites and multidisciplinary teams and ensure that the annual work programme is delivered in a timely manner
- Significant communication, consultation, interpersonal and negotiation skills including the ability to partner with a range of health-based clients across multiple businesses.
- Experienced in working with senior management and leading through influence the implementation of capital procurement strategies and asset management systems, frameworks, and processes, particularly within a large multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed organisation.
- High level of written skills with the proven capacity to research information, prepare briefings, letters, correspondence, and detailed reports.
- Display a high level of integrity and resilience with the capacity to monitor, prioritise and meet deadlines by taking responsibility to produce quality output and timely outcomes in a technical setting exposed to rapidly changing technological advances.
- While not mandatory, qualifications in Business Management, Project/Program Management or Medical Science would be well regarded.
- A moderate level of knowledge of Pathology Laboratory operations and assets/equipment and consumables
