About our team:
Our Regional Business Improvement team play a crucial role in analysing data (e.g., on time running statistics) to look for improvements and opportunities to support organisational change programs and initiatives aimed at delivering world class long distance and tourism rail products.
As the Manager Business Improvement, you will be responsible for directly leading one other to maintain oversight of the Strategic and Operational plans for Regional Operations to identify, develop, implement and monitor improvement initiatives. To achieve this you will work closely with the Senior Manager Regional Operations Integration, Data and Analytics Team and the Regional Operations Senior Leadership team.
This is a temporary full-time position based in Brisbane CBD until November 2025.

About the role:
• Support the achievement of the Regional Operations business targets, objectives, performance measures, commercial responsibilities and continually seek to identify business process improvement initiatives
• Foster strategic knowledge and capability through the provision of effective strategic frameworks, systems, processes and communication
• Manage the preparation of required Board and Executive papers, presentations, plans and other documentation
• Provide insights from operational planning, day of operational activities and artefacts, to inform and contribute to the broader regional program of works, drive transformational change and support adoption and alignment
• Lead the integration of information and technologies into the broader Regional Business and relevant SEQ and corporate areas to validate and report analysis that supports options, influences decision-making, and identified opportunities in the optimal use of operational resources
• Build and maintain collaborative and constructive relationships with key stakeholders and strategically influence decision-making ensuring beneficial outcomes for Regional Operations
• Develop, direct and control the management of a program of prioritised activities to drive integrated planning and support the delivery of the Queensland Rail Vision and Strategic Objectives
• Some travelling and out of hours work will be required from time to time
