About our team:

Our Regional Business Improvement team play a crucial role in analysing operational data (e.g., on time running statistics) to look for improvements and opportunities to support organisational change programs and initiatives aimed at delivering world class long distance and tourism rail products.

As the Operational Business Improvement Manager, you will be responsible for directly leading one other to maintain oversight of the Strategic and Operational plans for Regional Operations to identify, develop, implement and monitor improvement initiatives.

To achieve this, you will work closely with the Senior Manager Regional Operations Integration as well as our Data and Analytics, Onboard Station and Customer Service, Travel, Train Control, Rollingstock and our Regional Operations Senior Leaderships teams.

This is a temporary full-time position based in Brisbane CBD for 12-months.

About the role:

• Identify insights from operational planning (including day of operational activities) to inform and contribute to the broader regional program of works to drive transformational change
• Lead the integration of information and technologies into the broader Regional Business to maximise operational resources
• Collaborate and build constructive relationships with key stakeholders to strategically influence decisions
• Develop, direct and control the program of prioritised activities
• Manage the preparation of required Board and Executive papers, presentations, plans and other documentation
• Some travelling and out of hours work will be required from time to time

You will be a motivated self-stater with exceptional stakeholder engagement and change management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In addition, you will have:

• Previous leadership skills in a large and operational organisation, focused on building a customer focused, performance-based culture
• Ability to foster strong relationships and communicate and influence effectively across a large organisation
• High level of operational project, change and risk management skills to oversee a complex scope of works
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to problem solve, negotiate and influence change
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities within a tight deadline driven and agile environment
• Previous operational experience or experience with continuous Business Improvement / experience with the roll out and implementation of visual project boards would be highly regarded
