An exciting opportunity is available to utilise your leadership skills at South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) as the Manager of the Children Young People & Families Team.
- Social Worker or Psychologist Grade 4, permanent
- Based across a number of SECASA sites (predominantly Dandenong, Seaford and East Bentleigh)

A Day in the Life
Reporting to the Director of SECASA, this position is responsible for leading and managing the operations and strategic development of the SECASA’s Children, Young People & Families team. Incorporating the clinical and professional performance of all areas of SECASA’s Children, Young People & Families team to ensure best practice in assessment, goal setting, intervention, and where appropriate restorative work. This position is required to support and lead change with the aim of improving service delivery, efficiency and coordination as well as positively contributing to SECASA’s state-wide role as a leader in the provision of Harmful Sexual Behaviour, sexual assault and family violence services.
This position will support the strategic direction of the program and the design of innovative and best practice models of care, whilst assuming professional / discipline leadership for SECASA. This includes trauma informed human resource management to provide a high-quality leadership, promoting team resilience and growth. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment and understanding of, the personal and current political issues surrounding sexual assault, family violence and harmful sexual behaviors in children and Young People. The frameworks that underpin the service delivery will reflect latest research and current issues within these areas.
About You
You will be an experienced leader, with a passion for developing and nurturing a strong culture of professionalism and respect within the workplace. A knowledge of the sector, particularly working with children, Young PeopleAnd Families in a therapeutic relationship and environment is essential in the leadership to your team, along with a knowledge of working with Young People who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours.
What you need:
Social Work:
- Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Master of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Eligible for ordinary membership of ASW (www.aasw.asn.au)
- Written evidence of eligibility for AASW membership for overseas qualifications is required.
- Completion of a post graduate qualification in a relevant field
Psychology:
- Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) AHPRA
- Appropriate post-graduate qualifications in psychology (Masters or Doctorate)
- Minimum of eight (8) years experience as a generally registered psychologist
- Having or working towards supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Hold AHPRA endorsement in an area of specialised practice, such as clinical, forensic, neuropsychology.
- Evidence of participation in clinical research activities.
