Why Your Role Matters:
As the Manager, Compliance & Quality Assurance you will provide key strategic advice on compliance requirements for the University and assists areas to implement and improve processes to meet these compliance responsibilities.
You will be the key UNSW contact point for Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and Educational Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) related matters. On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:
- assessing compliance with internal and external requirements, and identifying compliance gaps
- compiling and drafting advice and reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies
- responding to complex and diverse enquiries across a wide range of policy, regulatory and quality assurance (QA) issues
- providing high level advice and support for policy development and other compliance-related initiatives in support of the University’s strategic and operational objectives
Who You Are:
With a strong background in similar compliance & quality-focussed roles, you will be able to work autonomously and be proactive. You will also need:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and extensive experience in compliance management roles, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment in which universities operate is desirable but not essential
- Proven ability to operate in a complex multi-stakeholder environment with the ability to develop effective working relationships with leaders across the University
- Proven experience negotiating with external and internal parties regarding accreditation and/or compliance requirements, and successfully implementing these across a large and diverse organisation
- Ability to provide expert advice on the regulatory environment and its impact on operations
- High-level organisational skills and proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Superior verbal and written communications skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
