Job description

  • Key role in supporting our Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB) customers and driving a high performing team
  • Sydney based role and requires regular attendance to the office (2-3 days per week)
  • Permanent opportunity 

How will I help?

Agency Operations and Corporate Guarantees sit within Corporate Lending Operations (CLO) which is part of WIB Operations.  The team support the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB) customers who enter into syndicated loans where Westpac is the agent bank, or request issuance of bank guarantee.  The team also participate in projects related to our product system LoanIQ, and new product initiatives.

Your role of Manager will be critical in developing a high performing and skilled team which is focussed on increasing customer satisfaction and utilising efficient business practices. 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Build a strong risk aware culture within the team 
  • Focus on CORE (Customer Outcomes & Risk Excellence) by managing issues impacting customers and business partners
  • Actively contribute to the daily servicing requirements and suggest ways to improve service levels
  • Create a collaborative culture which clears the way to work effectively within the Lines of Business (LOB)
  • Manage the loan and settlement processing in LoanIQ
  • Action lending related queries and investigations- providing solutions to customers and stakeholders
  • Partner with Product, Credit Risk, Finance, Agency Front Office and Lending Service teams to ensure customer deliverables are met
  • Conduct monthly 1:1’s with direct reports and implement development and succession plans for the team

What do I need?

You will be an articulate communicator, strategic thinker and strong ability to lead change. In order to be successful in this role you will also have:

  • Strong banking operational experience. Knowledge of Corporate Lending, LoanIQ desirable, however not essential
  • Previous people leadership/ coaching experience with a proven track record in contributing to building and managing high performing teams
  • A strong focus on risk and compliance
  • The ability to establish strong relationships across the Group to foster a collaborative approach to uplifting experience and resolving customer issues
