The VEC has a well established cyber and Information Security program that includes a SOC, SIEM, and DFIR. The VEC is at a high degree of maturity and seeks to continuously maintain and improve the safety and security of electoral services. This is a newly created position that reflects executive recognition of this important function.
What you will be doing
Reporting directly to the Head of Cyber & Information Security, this role will be responsible for:
Leading an already established VPDSS compliance and reporting program
Contributing towards the continuous review and improvement of cyber and Information Security procedures and practices
Promoting cyber and Information Security best practices across the organisation
Ensuring that VEC's security program remains current and effective
Leading remediation activities for incidents, compliance matters and audits relating to cyber and Information Security
Providing strategic-level support to the Head of Cyber & Information Security on the development and implementation of cyber and Information Security related operational planning, budgets and other corporate reporting requirements
What you will bring to the role
Demonstrated experience in managing cyber and Information Security in medium to large organisations
Specialist knowledge of cyber and Information Security principles and best practice
Applied understanding of relevant legislation as well as security frameworks such as VPDSS, ASD Essential Eight, ASD ISM, and ISO-27001.
Strong interpersonal skills to influence and partner with stakeholders
A tertiary qualification in computer science, information technology, cyber security, or a related field.
An Industry recognised cybersecurity certification and eligibility to obtain an Australian security clearance are highly desirable.
