About the opportunity
Creating a vibrant identity for the College, this role brings together a vision for engagement with students, community, industry and alumni across all Schools and disciplines. A key component of the role will be supporting the implementation of Strategic Projects across the College.
Transforming our precincts into a destination that best showcases UTAS’ outputs and partnerships, the incumbent will work with internal and external stakeholders, assist with schools’ engagement, and work with the communications, marketing and research teams to promote the profile of the College and its academic staff and students as well as the University more widely. The Manager Engagement and Strategic Projects will deliver an innovative and Strategic program of initiatives under the direction of the Executive Dean and Executive Director Strategy and Business Development and in collaboration with the Strategy and Business Development team, Heads of School and the wider UTAS community.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, implement, and review a broad ranges of strategic College initiatives with external stakeholders.
- Foster external relationships and contribute to the delivery of our existing network of partnerships and projects with leading industry organisations, government, individuals.
- Work closely with Schools and academic staff to highlight the role of the University in the community through public engagement that profiles excellence in research and teaching.
- Streamline CALE’s engagement, Strategic Projects and partnership activities to ensure that communication, documentation, and processes are of sound quality, are clear, coordinated, and easily navigated by existing and potential stakeholders and partners.
- Manage a range of analytic tasks to support the College strategy team in analysing key issues and trends impacting the College, including the monitoring and evaluation activities for school engagement.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong project management skills, the ability to design and deliver projects within specified timeframes and budgets.
- Excellent communication, representation, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to address strategic priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop high quality community engagement experiences that can reflect the values and creative and academic vision of the College of Arts, Law and Education and the University of Tasmania.
- Demonstration of excellent interpersonal, engagement, collaboration, and relationship management attributes across both academic and professional streams within a tertiary education environment.
- Demonstration of capacity in the successful production and implementation of academic and creative events.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 or HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $143,448 comprising base salary within the range of $96,071 to $122,605 plus 17% superannuation. Relocation allowance for the ideal candidate.
