Job description

City of Mount Gambier has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to join the Corporate and Regulatory Services team.

About the position:

• Full time – 5 year contract.
• Flexible working arrangements available.

The role of Manager Financial Services manages all aspects of the City of Mount Gambier financial systems and accounting records in accordance with Local Government Act, Regulations, and professional standards to meet the short and long term accounting requirements of the organization. 
This Includes:
• Ensuring that the organisation meets its annual statutory reporting requirements,
• Monitoring cash liquidity to ensure the organisation’s financial obligations are met,
• Ensuring that the general ledger accurately reflects the organisation’s revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities and equity, and overseeing the organisation’s transactional Financial Services team.
 

This position is classified at Level 8 Step 1 – Level 8 Step 3 (currently $126,488.74 – $134,771.94 per annum) of the City of Mount Gambier Administration Staff Agreement No.12 2022.
 

About you:
• A demonstratable understanding of delivering key services as a trusted advisor.
• University degree in Finance, and membership of a recognised professional financial body, or demonstrated professional experience.
• Proven high level financial professional and technical skills, particularly related to finance and reporting.
• Extensive leadership experience and proven capacity to lead, mentor and develop staff.
• Experience in innovation and leading change to deliver improved financial systems.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to decode complex information into easily understood reporting.
• High tolerance for role complexity, multiple stakeholders and multi-tasking preferably with experience in a complex multifaceted organisation.
• Exceptional understanding of the application of financial software to enhance financial systems and information.
