Manager, Information Services

The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority regulates for quality learning outcomes.
We register: school education providers, senior secondary education providers , school boarding premises, children for home schooling in Victoria and vocational education and training (VET) providers that deliver accredited training to domestic students in Victoria only.
We also:

• appoint review bodies
• regulate apprenticeships and traineeships in Victoria
• approve overseas secondary student exchange organisations
• accredit courses and register qualifications
• investigate complaints against our registered providers
• maintain a register of all education and training organisations
• act to protect the interests of students as consumers of education or training services.

The Manager, Information Services plays a valuable role in the management of the IT functions of the VRQA.
This role will manage the Information Services Unit, which administers the key systems that support the VRQA's business operational functions and its Board and subcommittees. The unit provides support for registers and systems covering schools, registered training organisations, home schooling, and apprenticeships and traineeships. VRQA systems utilise Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce CRM so your experience and ability to maximise the business benefits of CRM, including hands on technical ability with one or both platforms will be highly valued.
In this role you will :

• oversee management and maintenance of the VRQA's systems
• manage system enhancement projects through working closely with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their requirements
• effectively manage change with minimal disruption to key systems, business as usual and manage internal departmental project teams and external vendors
• extract and analyse data to meet the VRQA's reporting requirements and as requested by the VRQA's business units, Board, subcommittees and external government departments and agencies.
• have accountability for information and records management strategy and compliance.
• manage a skilled team including system administrators, testers, data analysts and project specialists.
• be responsible for planning, managing workflows, individual performance management, relationships with service providers, and liaison with other VRQA managers to ensure effective coordinated and effective provision of services to end users.

In addition, you will be expected to provide sound information systems advice and long term strategic planning to senior management that demonstrates balancing innovation with practicality. Sound technology project management, including agile methodology experience, and excellent communication and influencing skills will be needed to effectively translate complex systems issues and solutions that deliver value to the Board and executive.
