High paying manager / installer role with potential equity upside – to $150K package potential.
Our client is a leading long established security doors &screens, blinds and awnings supply and installation company servicing the greater Ipswich area.
We are seeking an energetic and ambitious person who is either a current, or ex tradie, OR has demonstrated high-level handy-person skills to take on this exciting lead role in the company.
With virtually more business than they can handle this company has a stellar reputation honed over many years, with pure 5-star reviews and massive repeat customer business.
The role would be required to handle end-to-end quotation through to final installation, with quote leads generation supplied for them (ie no lead generation requirement in this role as such).
In this industry there are a range of different providers, from the “churn and burn” discounted China imports style product, with rushed contract installers, through to over-priced rip-off merchant providers.
Our client proudly sits in the middle of this continuum, supplying the highest quality (including market leading brand-name) products, manufactured in Queensland, offered at fair prices with expert installation and pride-in-their-work. Our client is not interested in moving either towards the “cheap and nasty” or “over-priced rip-off” ends of the scale and has built a highly sustainable and respected business on their current model and market positioning.
To be considered, the applicant would therefore need to be a cut-above the standard contracted installer – instead our client is looking for someone with high standards and pride in their work, and great friendly people skills.
Other attributes would include:
- High levels of attention to detail in measuring, quoting and fitting the products, as well as placing order lists to company management, and other record-keeping requirements.
- Knowledge and creativity when suggesting solutions to client’s requirements (training will be provided)
- Courteous, friendly, and demonstrating excellent customer service skills, ideally someone who loves to develop rapport and is not afraid to “close” a quote/sale in a professional but persuasive manner (but we are NOT looking for high-pressure sales skills – the products and service sell themselves but sometimes customers need to be steered towards the next step).
- A strong and energetic motivation towards action and efficiency – the role will not lend itself to someone who is happy to spend lots of time idly “chatting” to prospects and clients in a way that just wastes time and reduces the rate of quotes/installs per day.
- An uncompromising approach to workplace safety, compliance, and absolute integrity of conduct, seeing as the role will be visiting client’s homes.
- A demonstrated history of taking responsibility and getting things done, versus making excuses and being indecisive.
This role will essentially be the “face” of this company to the clients, and as such our client is seeking the “rare-bird” professional operator who stands out from the pack, and the company is prepared to reward accordingly. Installations run at approx. 10-15 per week depending on size of job and the role will need to perform up to 100 quotes per month, so high levels of organisation, route management, and efficiency will be required. Trades assistant (helper) personnel will generally be available, as required, for larger jobs.
The role attracts a base salary similar to the full salary that a normal installer in this field would expect, ie. between $75,000 to $80000 plus Super, BUT in addition, a strong bonus incentive based on per-installation is offered, adding an extra estimated $25,000 to $30,000 (on current installation volumes) to annual income (providing reasonable quality and performance metrics are met), PLUS there is a modern fully fitted light truck offered on a “home garage” with limited private use basis.
Total remuneration package value approx. $120K to $130K.
In addition, after a six-month initial probation period, the company is offering either a buy-in, or “earn-in” minority shareholding, anticipated to be in the range of 4 to 7% and likely to add a further $20K to $30K to total remuneration (Further details would be provided to short-list candidates only).
This is a serious company with 7 figures in revenue, and a long-held and closely guarded reputation in the local industry. With some exciting expansion plans in the pipeline for increasing the range of products, and possibly broadening the geographical reach, the company expects to be requiring a total of 2 to 2.5 full-time quoters/installers by mid 2023. For the right operator entering this role now, there exists exciting potential to be managing a small team, possibly across multiple locations, with a more diversified product range, within 12 months or less, with of course some commensurate further additional increase in remuneration.
Anticipated January 2023 start, with full handover training provided. Please note this employer does NOT discriminate on the basis of vaccination status.
