The Strategic Communication & Engagement Branch is responsible for the department's communications, media, social media, sponsorship, events and design. This role has a focus on quality, innovative and strategic media and issues management and promoting key government and departmental priorities through outstanding public affairs materials.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the development of media and issues management strategies that protect and enhance the department's reputation.
- Manage the preparation of speeches, media releases and materials for the Minister and Director-General and for departmental and mainstream publications.
- Ensure there are sound issues and crisis management systems and skilled and experienced people to maintain the department's capability to respond to emerging issues and promote the positive initiatives of the organisation.
- Manage the timely provision and quality control and approval process of speeches, media releases, media responses and statements, and other materials, often within tight deadlines.
- Provide professional advice and assistance in implementing communications and media strategies.
