The Manager of Minor Projects within our Property, Infrastructure & Facilities Team will oversee the safe, cost-effective, and timely planning, execution, and completion of projects in accordance with the policies, procedures, and quality standards of the Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust.
The Role:
Are you a business leader with demonstrated commercial acumen, technical expertise in commercial building and civil assets, and a track record of success? Do you possess strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to continuous improvement? If so, we invite you to join us in the newly created Manager of Minor Projects.
In this role, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. Key internal relationships will involve collaboration with departments such as Construction Projects, Facilities, Finance, Business Services, executive teams, procurement, and other operational units.
Key Responsibilities: As our Manager Minor Projects, you'll:
- Promote and develop a customer centric culture amongst direct reports ensuring the required behaviours and project management standards are in line with organisational and operational objectives, through the coaching and mentoring.
- Provide regular coaching and feedback to the reporting leadership team in relation to customer centric targets, behaviours and KPI's.
- Provide management and leadership to project teams, direct reports and promotes an environment that encourages a team approach to achieve the goals and objectives of SMCT.
- Assume responsibility for project and engineering activities and ensuring that the required standards of safety, quality, cost and schedule are achieved.
- Manage the conceptualisation and definition stage of projects as directed, addressing initial and life cycle costs and formulate alternative solutions.
- Proven leadership in Health and Safety, having consistently improved safety performance across a variety of organisations.
About You: We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in building, renovation and refurbishment of commercial buildings and civil infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of the key financial drivers of a business including cost
- Ability to competently comprehend and interpret technical documents such as specifications and drawings.
- Has a broad understanding of building
