Manager, Pharmacy Key Accounts and Strategic Partnerships
Role Purpose
Accelerate patient reach of Lilly medicines through developing and executing Lilly’s commercial partnerships and pharmacy strategy. This includes partnerships across the Australian pharmacy channel, wholesaler network, and through developing innovative business models within the private healthcare sector.
Lilly ANZ has a growing business, focusing on key therapy areas of type 2 diabetes, immunology, oncology, and with exciting opportunities on the horizon in obesity and Alzheimer’s disease. With such a unique opportunity awaiting, Lilly is determined to help create the most frictionless pathway of Lilly medicines to patients.
Lilly is committed to building a long-term relationship with community pharmacy in Australia, and this newly created role will assume commercial responsibility for the pharmacy channel and pharmacy industry stakeholders, working closely with the Lilly cross functional business to implement the long-term strategy.
Emphasis will be on leading Lilly’s commercial execution in the pharmacy channel to maximize the reach and scale of Lilly medicines, whilst bringing back into Lilly knowledge and insight of the changing pharmacy landscape to enhance enterprise knowledge and elevate strategic decision making.
This role will also drive new business growth within the private healthcare sector, including digital healthcare organisations. This will be achieved by compliantly building impactful business partnerships that deliver strong value propositions for both parties, with high-quality patient care at the core of our shared objectives.
The role will require an entrepreneurial mindset to drive strong and consistent business growth, while remaining fully compliant with Lilly’s ethical engagement procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of an overarching strategy focused on building and strengthening key relationships with key pharmacy banner groups, wholesalers and private healthcare organizations.
In participation with the commercial & functional business leaders, identify market opportunities that accelerate reach and scale of the business strategy and actions to deliver on ambitious growth plans.
Be the conduit between the Lilly ANZ affiliate and key pharmacy stakeholders.
Bring pharmacy insights into the Lilly business that will enhance the quality of decision making and brand planning.
Leverage knowledge of pharmacy’s current and future challenges to unlock opportunities for Lilly to collaborate and deliver medicines to more patients faster.
Effectively communicate with internal business stakeholders, including clear, accurate, and data-driven reporting on performance as well as insightful commercial learnings
Skilfully leverage key expertise and skills from within Lilly where needed into the pharmacy channel to drive growth in patients reached.
Experience in key account management in the private market would be favourable to enable accelerated business growth alongside high-quality, holistic patient care.
Key Competencies & Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated the ability to develop long term strategic pharmacy plans from vision to implementation with success
Entrepreneurial mindset combined with sound commercial acumen and effective communication skills
Leadership skills (particularly in cross functional collaboration, decision making and leading without authority)
Ability to thrive in a high pressure and ambiguous environment
Superior analytical, planning and organizing skills
Stakeholder management, and expertise in influencing and negotiation
Ethical conduct is a must
Key pharmacy account and/or B2B management experience (5 years +)
Experience of both intermediary and direct distribution models is desirable
