Role Context:
As part of the Policy, Strategy and Performance group, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating strategic planning, business planning, and risk management initiatives. You will lead a dedicated team in developing and refining the department's strategic plan, ensuring its effective execution, and fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the ongoing development and improvement of our Business Planning Framework and Corporate Management Framework
Coordinating business planning processes and providing expert advice on strategic planning matters
Overseeing the department's input to regulatory reform programs
Preparing high-quality reports, papers, and presentations within agreed timeframes
Identifying and implementing projects to enhance planning processes and departmental capabilities
Building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders
Required Capabilities:
Leadership: Translate organisational strategy into actionable plans, motivate team members, and build commitment to shared goals.
People Management: Align team with organisational values, define role expectations, and facilitate employee development.
Strategic Planning: Develop long-term plans, think at the big picture level, and translate strategic direction into day-to-day activities.
Communication Skills: Communicate effectively orally and in writing, prepare clear and concise communications, and engage stakeholders.
Planning and Organising: Establish systems and procedures, set objectives and priorities, and adapt to changing priorities.
Relationship Building: Build trust, establish and maintain relationships at all levels, and promote harmony and consensus.
Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline is desirable.
Key Selection Criteria:
Showcase abilities in Strategic Planning, Conceptual, and Analytical Ability.
Highlight strong Communication Skills and Relationship Building capabilities.
Provide evidence of Leadership and People Management expertise.
Demonstrate proficiency in Planning and Organising tasks.
