Manager, Regulatory Affairs

  • As Manager, this role reports to Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs and is a member of the Mercer Pacific’s Compliance and Regulatory Engagement team. This role is responsible for supporting Regulatory Affairs function and Mercer's Regulatory Change Framework. 
  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders including local & global colleagues, auditors and leaders across Mercer, this role will seek to build constructive working relationships and promote robust management systems & compliance culture within the organisation.

We will count on you to:

  • Implement Regulatory Engagement Framework by supporting and co-ordinating regulatory requests and responses to regulators. This will involve working with key stakeholders including Business Leaders, Line 1 Risk and Compliance teams and the Legal team.
  • Actively ensure new regulatory trends and requirements are identified and work in partnership with the business to implement necessary changes.
  • Support the maintenance of the Regulatory Management Framework across Mercer Group with input from key business stakeholders.
  • Support production of regular and ad-hoc reporting, to Risk and Compliance Function, Business leaders locally and globally, Committees and Boards.
  • Identify and help drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support Line 1 Risk and Compliance colleagues. 
  • Build and preserve trusting relationships with various teams as required to complete allocated tasks.

What you need to have: 

  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in legal and/or financial services experience (superannuation experience strongly preferred).
  • Regulatory affairs and financial services experience in an in-house role or having worked for a regulator (strongly preferred).
  • Understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks which impact service offerings and solutions (strongly preferred).
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Advanced conflict resolution and business acumen skills.
  • Analytical mindset to assess impact of changing regulatory environment on the business operations.
  • Able to understand the business issues and take a pragmatic approach.
  • Change management and agile working mindset.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work towards demanding deadlines.
