  • Lead a growing team to manage complaints about responsible research conduct
  • Be a trusted advisor for senior University leaders
  • Brilliant benefits and a flexible hybrid work environment!

About the Role
Do you thrive in dynamic, complex environments, and lead with care, curiosity and attention to detail? We're seeking a dedicated and experienced investigations manager to lead our Research Integrity Investigations Team. You’ll guide and support our investigators to navigate and provide strategic and regulatory advice to key stakeholders on potential breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.

Your impact will be demonstrated by prioritising staff well-being, rigorously adhering to our ways of working, and by ensuring outcomes are always procedurally fair.

Collaborating with fellow leaders, you'll actively strengthen the University’s culture of responsible research, fostering trust and transparency at every level.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guide your team: Develop, coach, and mentor your crew, fostering service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Steer investigations: Provide leadership and direction for breach matters, ensuring excellent service and adherence to policies. Oversee evidence, interviews, and reports, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Empower panels: Offer technical expertise and draft correspondence for investigation panels, supporting senior stakeholders.
  • Master the landscape: Stay current on fairness principles, codes, funding requirements, and university policies for handling complaints and allegations.

Who we are looking for
You dissect complex issues with sharp analysis and navigate sensitive matters with mature judgment. Engaging diverse stakeholders across the University and beyond, you influence and negotiate with ease. You ensure complex information is communicated with clarity, leaving audiences informed and engaged. You confidently manage diverse and competing matters, prioritising efficiently and delivering sound and defensible outcomes.

You will also have:

  • A recognised and relevant qualification and relevant extensive experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training in a complex environment.
  • Extensive experience leading and developing a team, with demonstrated ability to communicate key strategic objectives and to support staff to achieve organisational goals in a large and complex environment.
  • Possession of specialist investigations qualifications is highly desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
  • Demonstrated experience in the case management of assessments and investigations in a complex environment.

For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.

To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.

This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.
