About the RoleThe Manager, Safety and Wellbeing is a senior leadership position and will play a pivotal role in effectively leading a team of WHS professionals to enhance the safety of our diverse community, encompassing three residential aged care sites, independent living units, and a corporate office. In this role you will provide fit for purpose strategic and operational advice to develop and implement robust safety systems. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a harmonious balance between our risk profile and implementing effective control measures.
About YouThe suitable candidate will have the ability to partner collaboratively, engage and influence site-based leaders and key stakeholders to identify, assess, and proactively manage safety risks across all sites. The role will lead the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive staff wellbeing programs, with a particular emphasis on mitigating psychosocial hazards and associated risks. They will be agile and adaptive in the way they work, open to change and willing to explore innovative ways of working. You will be a decisive thinker, skilled influencer, solution focussed, and action oriented to drive continuous improvement.
Possess solid knowledge in WHS function and practices, with the ability to adapt these to an aged care setting. Familiarity with the specific challenges, trends, and regulations within the aged care sector is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to actively lead, mentor and develop the team by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and encouraging a collaborative environment that aligns with LHG’s values and strategic direction. Effective communication, influencing, and negotiating skills will enhance your natural ability to form partnerships and engage with diverse stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
