About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Safety professionals to join the new SA Copper Asset HSE team as a Safety Specialist, based at Olympic Dam.
Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, these roles provide coaching, technical expertise, and advice on various aspects of safety and risk management to leaders across site. In the Safety Specialist role, you will:
- Analyse safety data and information sources to identify emerging safety trends and recommend safety improvement initiatives.
- Proactively reach out to site personnel to coach individuals in site safety systems
- Actively attend various safety routines across site
- Conduct training sessions across various safety systems.
- Establish and lead an investigation quality working group to maintain capability of investigation facilitators.
- Monitor a Safety email inbox and respond to support operational needs.
- Lead a safety field leadership improvement program and promote hazard awareness and identification.
- Support the sites Health and Safety Representative Process.
About You
You will be a self-motivated professional with a solid record or accomplishment of achieving results through influence, coaching and mentoring. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in a safety role.
- A tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience managing safety.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in an organization.
- Coaching and mentoring skills with a genuine desire to help people, achieve outcomes and support continuous improvement.
- Experience with facilitating safety incident investigations.
- Sound data analytical skills.
- A current C class motor license or equivalent Australian state motor vehicle license.
Roster
FIFO rosters (7/7) will be available across all sites, as well as residential roles for Olympic Dam. Flexible work options will be considered. These roles allow you to balance your work and other commitments, with the flexibility to change rosters as your life evolves. To find out more click here.
Location Roxby Downs is located about 560 kilometres north of Adelaide (about 1 hr flight to the Olympic Dam Airport).
