About the role
SPX Aids to Navigation are seeking an experienced Systems and Solutions Manager to meet the increasing global demand for our products and join our growing team. Facilitate the needs of our development projects by collaborating with subject matter experts and make important development and design decisions.
In this position, the successful candidate will contribute to the success of the team by providing leadership of the Systems / Solutions team as well as the delivery of new product developments, systems life cycle and product integration engineering to meet client and/or employer needs. The role also includes facilitating comprehensive pre-sale bid support and post-sale build support for solutions, whilst maintaining budget, schedule, and margin targets
Tasks and responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, mentor, and develop a high performing team in the creation and execution of programs Defining user needs, requirements analysis, requirements derivation and traceability,
- Manage and lead the development of custom system solutions in response to customer requirements.
- Manage new product introduction throughout the entire product lifecycle from product management requirements input to product handover, and ongoing maintenance.
- Identifying, quantifying, documenting and realising opportunities for improvement within the SPX Aids to Navigation product range or life-cycle.
- Providing technical support and advice on design changes custom orders, or improvements to ensure product success in all stages of their life-cycles and continued integration with other products
- Collaboration in interdisciplinary development teams in order to produce a solution that meets specification.
- Have foundational knowledge in INCOSE Systems Engineering.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience and success in a similar Systems Engineering position/s
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
- Registered or be able to be registered with the Victorian Professional Engineers Act
- 5 years+ experience in a similar Engineering position, with proven success.
- Preferably 3 years’ experience in leadership and supervision of technical staff
- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
- Knowledge of the industrial electrical systems and products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in technical bid management
