About the role:
The Manager – Technology and Systems will join a large QLD State Government department to manage a multi-disciplinary team responsible for ensuring a key system's performance and reliability to agreed service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Ongoing evaluation of performance of the Ticketing Revenue System through formal capacity planning.
Drive contractor accountability and maturity within technical governance forums, through consistent use of actionable insight and data and regular system KPI assessments.
Lead and manage the provision of technical input into the development and prioritisation of system projects in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and value for money for the Branch.
Mitigate against technical risks and issues to the system to reduce the likelihood of encountering unplanned outages.
Assess, verify and endorse technical solutions put forward by the contractor against solution architecture or engineering standards and data items.
• Develop system controls to assist in driving improvements to revenue system performance. • Manage all aspects of the core systems architecture, design and delivery; and drive maturity across operations.
Engage in technical forums across both Cloud and on-premises infrastructure problems and investments.
Lead the recovery of unplanned system events, inclusive of data integrity, across all customer transactions.
Apply good practice standards such as ISO27001, ensuring security standards are complied with.
Manage the system risks for capital expenditure, ensuring technology is current and up to date.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years' work experience working with an external supplier in managing a technology team in a complex IT environment, including IT monitoring systems, IT security related systems, disaster recovery and business continuity.
ITIL Certified or ability to demonstrate extensive ITIL V3 knowledge, including the ability to implement change control and incident management processes with training and documentation.
Desirable - Certificate IV in Project Management or PRINCE2 qualifications.
Desirable - ISTQB Foundation qualification, high level experience in software testing certification.
