About the opportunity
The University of Sydney War Memorial Carillon is one of only three carillons in Australia, and one of only four in the Southern Hemisphere. Within our Great Hall, lives the von Beckerath Organ. Both visually and aurally spectacular instruments are played on special occasions throughout the year, including all graduation ceremonies, as well as other recitals and concerts. We are seeking a talented and visionary Manager, University Carillon and Organ to play at these events, as well as to identify, develop and promote other ways to engage our staff, students and local communities through these unique instruments. The successful candidate will also have strong leadership capabilities to manage and roster a pool of casuals and nurture new starters, as well as strong administrative skills.
About you
- exceptional and proven talent in playing the carillon. Ability to the play the organ would be favourably regarded
- experience in teaching the carillon
- ability to lead and manage a pool of casuals and new starters
- has demonstrated strong experience in managing events/recitals with multiple stakeholders
- highly organised, can prioritise work, manage multiple projects and competing deadlines concurrently
- computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office suite

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
