What you'll be doing

Provide strong leadership and senior management of multiple sites and/or services whilst overseeing the operation of the VAD Liaison Service to ensure delivery of an integrated and effective service.
The Voluntary Assisted Dying Liaison Service (VAD-LS) Manager provides strong leadership, coordination and senior level management of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and is responsible for ensuring the strategic planning, implementation, governance, operation, monitoring and evaluation of the service, systems and policies that support the delivery and coordination of the VAD-LS.
The position will lead the implementation of the VAD-LS to ensure it aligns with NSW Health and SESLHD vision, objectives, and benefits. It will also lead the VAD-LS development to ensure all facilities within SESLHD and relevant partners deliver care in line with expectations outlined in the that allows eligible people the choice to access VAD in NSW from 28 November 2023 while providing high level support to clinicians and the public.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health service management and/or relevant equivalent work experience in clinical operations within the health system, or a combination of study and work experience.
- Proven experience in senior leadership and management in a large and complex organisation with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary staff.
- Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills with proven record of successfully managing and implementing organisational change.
- Demonstrated ability in management including human resource management, financial management, service development and delivery, and workplace relations.
- Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills, including the ability to make complex judgements and take initiative within the delegated area
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and influencing skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, through all organisational levels.
- Highly developed and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Current drivers’ licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position)
