The role
Reporting to the Director, Children and Young People Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy and Partnerships Unit, Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy and Planning Branch, Clinical Planning and Service Strategy Division, you will provide leadership and people management in state-wide strategy, planning and program development as it relates to adolescents and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the development, implementation and evaluation of effective mental health, alcohol and other drug strategies and service initiatives to deliver on Queensland Government priorities and the priorities under Better Care Together.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent Queensland Health in intra-governmental, intergovernmental and external forums
- Prepare and coordinate timely and high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, correspondence, presentations and other documentation.
- Provide leadership, development and management of the program of work to achieve identified priorities and organisational, business, and operational outcomes.
The successful person
You will have:
- Expert knowledge or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of mental health, alcohol and other drugs policy, planning, and the service delivery environment and priorities at a national and state level, with a focus on adolescents and young people.
- High level and demonstrated interpersonal skills in negotiation, influencing, advocacy, communication, consultation and harnessing the collective efforts of diverse stakeholders at strategic and operational levels.
- High level and demonstrated policy, planning and project leadership and management skills and the demonstrated ability to formulate and communicate strategic advice relevant to mental health alcohol and other drugs.
- Demonstrated history of effective team leadership, fostering an atmosphere where staff are nurtured, developed, and encouraged to achieve their utmost potential.
