Position Summary
Architecture Media is seeking an experienced editor to work across our highly regarded portfolio, to assist in the delivery of publications and related activities, including Architecture Australia, Houses and Landscape Architecture Australia. The successful applicant will work closely with the General Manager Content (Editorial Director) and will have both hands-on and leadership responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Contributing to the creative, content and business strategies for design-related publications, and assisting the editorial director to manage and implement the agreed strategies.
- Copywriting, including headlines, captions and pull quote selection.
- Copyediting, subediting and proofreading for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style and tone.
- Managing updates to editorial style guides.
- General oversight of the workflows of the content team, to pre-empt and solve scheduling and production issues.
- Mentoring editorial team members in developing subediting skills.
- Representing Architecture Media to a discerning professional audience at internal and external industry events and activities.
- Other associated duties as may be required from time to time.

- Performing successfully in a similar role.
- Strong editing and writing experience and training.
- Superior organisational skills combined with the ability to adapt to a continually changing media landscape.
- A sharp eye for detail.
- Some knowledge of Indesign.
- Friendly and confident manner.
- Professional visual presentation.
- A team-focused approach.
Experience
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
You must also be an Australian resident or have an appropriate working Visa.
