Excellent opportunity for a News Reporter to join Australia's largest media organisation. Work for News Corp's NewsWire providing valuable content for all mastheads, news.com.au and the Australia as well as external clients.
This role will have a focus on covering Business and finance news so will suit someone with an interest in economics and financial markets.
This a full time, permanent position and can be based out of Surry Hills or our Parliament House office in Canberra.
Key Responsibilities
Pitch and generate original news stories and ideas
Break economic and finance related news stories that engage everyday Australians
Develop and maintain a contact book that facilitates economics content
File engaging copy to strict deadlines
Respond to breaking news events outside of rostered hours when required
A journalist with a passion for finance, economics or politics
At least two years of journalism/newsroom experience - preferably in business/economics reporting
Fast, factual reporter who knows how to write an online story
Capable of multitasking and working under strict deadlines
Team player with strong communication skills
Not afraid to ask the tough questions
Able to simplify complex topics for a broad audience and present them in an engaging way
Flexibility around working days and hours
