Newington College are looking to appoint a motivated, dynamic, organised and creative Managing Editor to manage the production of various publications across the College on a permanent full-time basis.
The Managing Editor will work with the Director of Communications, a team of two in-house designers and an in-house writer, to project manage several major publications throughout the year, as well as work with internal stakeholders on creative briefs for ad hoc projects, to bring their ideas to life so they’re in line with the College brand guidelines and successfully achieve their objectives.
All content produced needs to be high-quality and maintain the College’s excellent reputation, while ensuring clear and effective communication with families, staff, alumni and the broader community.
Some of the publications include a bi-annual College magazine called The NC, an annual report, the Year 12 results booklet, the College’s yearbook The Newingtonian, the student planner and diaries and various other projects throughout the year.
This role will report into the Director of Communications and is based at our Stanmore senior campus. The successful applicant will work within a team of five, some of whom work on a part-time basis.

About You
The successful candidate will:
- Be tertiary educated with a Communications or equivalent degree
- Have five or more years editorial experience
- Have a track record of managing print and/or digital publications
- Exhibit excellent attention to detail and creativity
- Demonstrated experience with proofing/subediting written content
- Understand and adhere to the College’s Child Safeguarding policies and practices
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Child Safeguarding at Newington.
