A great opportunity exists for an experienced and qualified Fitter and Turner with it being an advantage if you have CNC operating Knowledge (Willing to provide training for CNC). The Company has the capabilities to design, manufacture and commission complete project solutions and service a wide range of industries Including the Space Industry. Types of materials machined are 6000 and 7000 series aluminium, Magnesium, High tensile steels including AISI 4140 and AISI 4340, Titanium Ti6Al4V, Invar, an TZM molybdenum alloy.
The Job
- Perform Milling and Lathe operations,
- Trade qualified Fitter & Turner with experience operating CNC machinery a advantage
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine method and sequence of operations and machine settings required
- Good mechanical aptitude and assembly skills
- Previous experience working in a workshop environment
- Previous experience using precision measuring equipment
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage work loads and be part of a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Conventional machine tools are:
- Bridgeport turret milling machines,
- Colchester lathes with a maximum turning diameter of 600mm and length of 2,000mm,
- Mechanical presses with capacities up to 30T
- CNC equipment:
- DMG Mori NLX 2500/700 Y CNC lathe, and
- DMG Mori NV 5000 machining centre.
Permanent position, $40+ per hour depending on skills and experience, plus super, plus overtime. Monday to Friday with flexible times starting from 6:30amup to 8am. Standard time 7am to 3:30pm
