AddressFULL TIME PAID POSITION - Marine Engineer Driver (MED2) required for the tallship, STV One and All. This hand built timber brigantine is the pride of South Australia.
STV One and All is available for all, however, its main objective is to foster youth development programs through sailing expeditions.
The ship is owned by the SA Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and managed by the Board of the Friends of One and All Sailing Ship, a registerer not for profit charity.
You will be working collaboratively with volunteer maintenance team while in port, but also with volunteer and paid voyage crew at sea, reporting directly to the Ship Manager.
This position requires hands-on maintenance work at sea and ashore.
The successful applicant must take the responsibility for the following: -
- General monitoring of mechanical systems on the vessel (engines, refrigeration, air conditioning, desalination etc.)
- Record keeping of all repairs and services digitally/log books
- General monitoring of fixtures & fittings eg plumbing & lighting
- Undertake preventative maintenance
- Essential to be competent in required vessel documentation relevant to AMSA requirements
These requirements are essential: -
- MED 2
- Tallship experience (preferred but not essential)
- Valid Driver's License
Support from the previous Engineer with induction and handover will be provided to the successful applicant. Pay for the role is consistent with the provisions of the Marine Tourism and Charter Vessels Award.
