The Opportunity:
With general oversight, this role entails delivering specialised engineering services focussed on marine/Mechanical Engineering to support the material remediation of the configuration baseline of the AOR’s.
Responsibilities:
Investigate deficiencies in design, materials, and system performance as per contract specification, and contribute to devising solutions to address these issues
Assess and provide feedback on engineering modifications, including supporting ILS documentation
Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as AORCA SPO staff, AOR ship’s staff, the In-service Support Contractor (Navantia), and Lloy’s Register in the course of your duties.
Take part in the planning and execution of tests and trails to evaluate system performance against design intent
Offer specialist guidance to support the wider team engaged in multi-disciplinary projects
Prepare comprehensive technical reports and related documentation as required
What you will bring:
An active Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance (or above)
Tertiary qualification in Naval Architecture / Engineering with major in Marine / Mechanical Engineering
10 years’ post-graduate experience, ideally in a maritime/naval engineering environment
Understanding and ability to work within the Seaworthiness Management System
Qualified to hold a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) delegation
Naval or merchant marine sea-going experience desired
