About the role.
We are seeking a Marketing and Bid Lead for our Canberra region to support the development of our marketing activities, including tenders and Bids, and developing and supporting the disseminating of marketing materials. The role will report to our General Manager, Marketing with a dotted line to our Canberra leadership team. As a marketer in an organisation of consultants, this role is working with technically excellent people, and you will need to translate that expertise into real language.

The role will spend 80% of the time on pursuits and Bid management and has 20% marketing elements. Bid management includes bid admin, coordination, and writing. It requires someone who can also assist with the strategic aspects of bids. This includes crafting win themes and executive summaries, facilitating workshops, and managing a robust qualification process.

We also seek someone who can contribute to B2B marketing activities such as our Strategic Account Program, helping coordinate thought leadership, event coordination and campaigns. This means helping with admin and reporting, account action monitoring, relationship mapping, managing feedback sessions, working opportunity development on accounts right through to helping with account plans/strategies and creating case studies and collateral specific to accounts.

About You

  • Have a minimum of 4 years experience in bid management, writing or management.
  • An experienced Bid Leader with bid writing and Bid strategy experience, or the capability to move into bid writing and strategy. Ideally, your experience is in a professional services environment, in Canberra with B2B and B2G experience.
  • Confident in managing stakeholders and facilitating bid strategy and qualification sessions.
  • An exceptional writer with a strong understanding of plain English principles, and the ability to create compelling narratives on technical subjects. This role is working with technically excellent people and you will need to translate that expertise.
  • Experienced in client-focussed programs, either with strategic account management or communications.
  • Detail-oriented. As well as excellent written skills, you also have a keen eye for detail and can make sure our brand style and tone are adhered to.
  • Innovative. Some of the things we are doing, we are learning for the first time, so you need to be able to innovate and be prepared to deliver something new.
  • Understanding different bid strategy methods such as RAIN or Shipley is helpful.
  • Understanding client focus and account management is a plus.
  • Have exceptional copywriting abilities.
  • Have experience in supporting the delivery of Marketing and business development strategies, including collateral development.
  • Have strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Support TSA’s drivers for Inclusiveness, Diversity and Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Understand CRM and opportunity management.
  • Be aligned with our values of Collaboration, Excellence and Integrity.
