Newcastle Airport, the second busiest Airport in the state, is experiencing the most exciting period of its 70-year history as it grows in size, aspiration, and influence.

About the role:
As the Marketing and Communications Manager at Newcastle Airport, you will lead the development and execution of the annual Marketing and Communications plan, ensuring all activities are completed within budget and on time. You will provide expert advice and support to internal clients, driving aviation business development, retail, car park activities, and other project communications. Managing and mentoring the Marketing and Communications team will be a key responsibility, ensuring that objectives are met, and performance reviews and development plans are regularly conducted.
In this role, you will deliver monthly board reports with insightful content and analysis, contributing to the strategic direction of Newcastle Airport. Working closely with the Executive General Manager, you will help drive strategic outcomes outlined in the business plan and build strong relationships with other members of the Executive team. Clear definition of responsibilities, setting objectives, and maintaining high standards of performance for direct reports will be essential.
You will oversee the development and implementation of Newcastle Airport's Marketing and Communications strategy, managing the brand to ensure consistent messaging and visual representation. Collaborating with the Property and Commercial Team, you will implement marketing campaigns to achieve agreed commercial targets. Additionally, you will support the Aviation Business Development Manager in developing targeted aviation business cases, presentations, and collateral. Managing NAPL events and sponsorships will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring they achieve optimum impact.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing NAPL's research requirements and communicating the results, including Economic Impact studies and Community Attitude surveys. Liaising with external agencies, government departments, and tourism offices on matters related to the Marketing and Communication Strategy will be crucial. You will also assist direct reports in creating and regularly reviewing development plans to ensure agreed objectives can be achieved, managing all activities with a strong project management ethos.
About You:
As our ideal candidate for the Marketing and Communications Manager position at Newcastle Airport, you bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. With a degree in Communication, Marketing, or Business, you have honed exceptional written and verbal communication skills that will be crucial in this role.
You have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, showcasing your ability to drive business outcomes. Your strong financial literacy enables you to manage budgets efficiently and prepare ROI-driven business cases that resonate with executive and board-level stakeholders.
With over 5 years of experience in Marketing and Communications, you have consistently delivered results and demonstrated strong project management skills. Your leadership qualities, including being a strong, energetic, approachable, flexible, and adaptable leader with a keen interest in big-picture thinking and strategy, align perfectly with the requirements of this role.
Overall, you are a dynamic and strategic thinker, capable of leading a team towards achieving the Marketing and communication goals of Newcastle Airport.
