Gleeson College is excited to invite creative, efficient and diligent professionals to apply for the position of Marketing and Community Engagement Officer to support the growth and development of the College by contributing to the College’s strategic vision and continuous improvement.
The focus of this position is to work collaboratively with the Leader of Community Engagement to assist in the development and implementation of Marketing and public relations strategies that enhance Community Engagement, and consequently enrolments, while enhancing the traditions and values of Gleeson College.
The Marketing and Community Engagement Officer will also work closely with a variety of stakeholders in the community; students, teachers, families, partner primary schools, etc, and focus on deepening all relationships.
Applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to perform key functions of the role; social media management, publication and graphic design, and photography.
This position is permanent, working 37.5 hours per week for 42-48 out of 48 weeks per year (the exact number of weeks is open for negotiation).
The successful applicant will:
- Work collaboratively with the Principal, Leader of Community Engagement and the Leadership Team to identify key strategies in regards to Community Engagement;
- Assist to develop and coordinate creative and innovative opportunities for students to contribute to the public image of the College via the promotion of their work;
- Maintain and nurture positive relationships between Gleeson College and our local and wider community, including our Partner Primary Schools and other Catholic schools
- Coordinate and plan events and days of recognition to acknowledge and celebrate First Nations peoples and cultures;
- Supervise our Junior Marketing Assistant and delegate tasks as appropriate;
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to coordinate the promotion of our College at events such as open evenings and assist the Community Engagement team with Transition Days;
- Assist with management and administration of College social media platforms, including content development and creation. Including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube;
- Maintain College website;
- Photograph key on-site College whole school events (such as Masses and Assemblies) as required and/or directed by line manager;
- Demonstrate a willingness to support the ethos of our Catholic College in line with the Gleeson 10 and Gleeson Staff 5.

- Details of three relevant referees (including Principal if currently working in a school)
